CITIZEN OF THE YEAR -TED RANDALL 2003

Longtime Beach resident Ted Randall has been named the Beaches East York Citizen of the Year for 2003. It was a "murderous decision" said Bob Murdoch, one of the judges and executive director of Community Centre 55. "The competition was huge."

Randall was owner of Randall's Stationery, at 964 Kingston Road and sold the business this past spring.

He's been a longtime active member of the Beaches Lions Club, and directly supports and participates in "zillions of Lion's projects, including the Beaches Lions Easter Parade and the traditional Christmas Tree Lighting in Kew Gardens Park."

Ted is involved with a variety of local sports teams and is always available to any local charitable function.

"It's his selfless and sustained devotion to the welfare of the community that got Randall this award, he's a utility person. He shows up where he's needed. He's devoted to people."
